I have now made a public plugin for wordpress.
When I was going to implement the latest twitter messages into my blog I was stunned that I was not able to find what I was looking for.
It all cooked down to that I made my own plugin.

This plugin lets the blog owners show the latest twitter messages from an account based on the username(on twitter), the admin interface that follows the plugin also lets the blog owner to choose the prefix and suffix surrounding the twitter messages displayed.
